FOLEGANDROS

Folegandros è un'isola bellissima e di piccole dimensioni, ancora poco turistica, infatti più volte durante la nostra permanenza di 3 giorni sull'isola ci è capitato di incontrare sempre le stesse persone, con le quali veniva naturale scambiare due parole di circostanza. Il motivo per cui è così poco frequentata, malgrado possieda una Chora tra le più belle delle cicladi, e un mare che più blu non si può, è dovuto al fatto che non è un'isola “facile”, per chi ama le comodità. Le spiagge più belle infatti sono raggiungibili o a piedi, attraverso lunghi e ripidi sentieri da percorrere sotto il sole, oppure con le barchette che partono dal porto o da Angali. Purtroppo a causa del vento forte che spesso soffia da queste parti le barchette non sono una garanzia, e può succedere, come quando c'eravamo noi, che non tutte partano. Inoltre le spiagge non sono attrezzate per cui mi sento di sconsigliare quest'isola agli amanti delle comodità. Un'isola del genere ha anche i suoi vantaggi però, e non sono pochi: qui il turismo di massa non si sa nemmeno cosa sia, siamo lontani anni luce dal caos di Santorini o dai divertimenti eccessivi di Mykonos. Il tempo sembra essersi fermato, la vita scorre lenta, tranquilla ed è inevitabile invidiare gli anziani abitanti del luogo che passano tutta la giornata sulle straw chairs out of the Chora of coffee, watching the comings and goings of tourists. e dopo questa piccola introduzione, ecco il diario di viaggio dei nostri 3 giorni a Folegandros:

La nave lenta che ci porterà da Santorini a Folegandro, con partenza alle 18, è un po' in ritardo a causa del forte mare mosso e del vento. Gli aliscafi veloci invece sono tutti sospesi. Il viaggio fino a Ios è un'odissea, perfino una grande nave come questa ondeggia di qua e di là, le onde in mare aperto sono altissime, non avevo mai visto nulla di simile. Da Ios in poi le cose migliorano e con una sola ora di ritardo arrivamo a Folegandros proprio mentre iniziava la partita dei mondiali Grecia-Argentina. Temevamo che il tipo dell'hotel preso dalla partita si dimenticasse di venirci a prendere, ma per fortuna non è così. A folegandros i gestiori di hotel o affittacamere non hanno l'usanza di aspettare l'arrivo del traghetto in piedi con un cartello con il nome della loro struttura per farsi riconoscere. Loro aspettano dentro ai pulmini parcheggiati poco più avanti. Questa è una cosa utile da sapere, noi non vedendo il nostro omino in piedi ad aspettarci (ed intorno era tutto buio) stavamo già per fare i biglietti del bus, quando Giorgio ha notato il pulmino dell'hotel Anomousa, e dentro c'era il gestore che sentiva la partita. Il viaggio dal porto all'hotel sembrava un viaggio nel nulla, attorno c'era solo silenzio e buio, tanto buio, le uniche luci: quelle delle stelle. Abbiamo pensato “dove we ended up? ". Unfortunately, the Argentine then scored, and then good-bye dreams of glory of Greece! The village after the game started to come alive, but luckily we are far from the crush of Santorini.

Superb also swim in the pool. Join us for dinner meeting with our new friends and we decide to go back to Kriticos. The evening really flies, with advice on the next reciprocal Greek islands to visit and anecdotes from previous trips. It 'nice to find other people like us so much love Greece!

Together with Antonella and her husband decide to rent a car, so you can shoot a bit 'over the island. It 's true, the island is piccola e quasi nessuno noleggia le auto, per questo sono anche molto care, però essendoci vento non c'è la possibilità di andare a vedere le varie spiagge con le barchette, i bus sono pochi e portano solo ad Angali, e quindi l'unica alternativa all'auto sarebbe muoverci a piedi, ma chi ce lo fa fare, meglio l'auto! E poi in 4 riduciamo notevolmente la spesa. Sono le 9 e noi partiamo con la nostra fiammante matiz rossa sull'unica strada di quest'isola. Ci fermiamo a vedere dei mulini a vento a strapiombo sul mare, il posto è bellissimo, peccato che i mulini sono in uno stato di abbandono.

Poi proseguiamo fino al paesino di Ano meria, e poi oltre, siamo curiosi di vedere da dove parte il sentiero che porta alla famosa spiaggia di Livadaki. Il tempo è incerto, il sole va e viene, vediamo una bella chiesetta che si erge in mezzo al nulla, attorno solo terra e qualche cespuglio. Decidiamo di raggiungerla, almeno per vedere il panorama da lassù.

E da lassù riusciamo ad intravedere Livadaki, ma solo dall'alto, per raggiungerla saranno neccessarie ore di cammino.

Poi proseguiamo fino alla costa nord, riusciamo ad arrivare ad Ampelli in macchina.

Purtroppo il mare è letteralmente in burrasca, ma noi in un certo senso siamo fortunati, siamo arrivati lì in macchina, non ci resta che fare retromarcia e tornare indietro. Invece ci fa pena un gruppo di persone che si affaccia dall'alto di un sentiero, e dopo aver camminato per così tante ore trovare il mare mosso e la spiaggia completamente inesistente, non be a most pleasant experience. June 25, 2010 During the night a strong storm strikes the island. In the morning we discover that it is a very rare thing, has not happened for years and in summer it rains so much ... we all wet and so we have to abandon our plan to return to Agios Nikolas and decide to accompany us to Antonella and her husband to port, they deliver the car and then take the ferry to Santorini, as we have before leaving for a few Milos and spend hours in the various coves around the port. A bit 'of foto e poi rientriamo in albergo. Lì ci concedono di passare un po' di tempo ancora nella bellissima piscina e di farci una doccia prima di portarci a prendere il traghetto per Milos. Il traghetto parte puntuale. Da lì in viaggio assistiamo ad un meraviglioso tramonto, un vero peccato aver scaricato le pile della digitale e finalmente arriviamo a Milos verso le 21.
