Japan, a great and noble nation that a little 'love for all its culture and everything that gives us (manga, anime, art, video games, cooking, cinema ...), is on its knees after a devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9, the largest earthquake the country's history over the past 150 years, which was succeeded by the so-called "liquid death", as it is called in Latin America: a tsunami wave height of 10 meters. Leaving aside the horrible and sad spectacle that saw houses and inhabitants, swallowed, and entire ships and trains disappeared into thin air, hits the drama of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, for which emergency has been declared the first of its kind in the country's official Japan. This, remember, one of the 25 largest nuclear plants in the world. Run by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the plant is located in the town of Okuma, about 200 km from Tokyo, Fukushima prefecture, and consists of six unità separate fra loro, che complessivamente hanno una produzione di 4,7 GW. A circa 11 chilometri dalla centrale di Fukushima I si trova un altro impianto nucleare, quello di Fukushima 2. L'area di evacuazione attorno alle due centrali è stata estesa a 20km dalle autorità. Il problema, pur grave, dello stoccaggio delle scorie nucleari, che non si estinguono proprio subito in caso di danno al sistema (vedi il caso della centrale nucleare a ridosso della Dora Baltea... ci sono poi i tedeschi che hanno il problema di un'intera cava di scorie fatta nei decenni scorsi) in questo caso passa perfino in secondo piano data l'immediatezza e la contingenza del rischio per le popolazioni. In questo contesto, con ben cinque reattori danneggiati (la fonte non è GreenPeace, il WWF o il Manifesto, bensì quei comunistoni del Washington Post ), il capogruppo alla Camera del Pdl, Fabrizio Cicchitto, a chi gli domandava se può esserci un cambiamento nella posizione in Italia sul nucleare, dopo il tragico terremoto del Giappone, ha risposto irremovibile che le centrali in Italia si faranno. La stessa Germania, dove già è stata programmata (sia pure per ora rinviata di qualche anno dalla Merkel) la chiusura delle centrali nucleari esistenti, è vicina all'obiettivo del 20% di energia solare. Probabilmente i nostri amici mitteleuropei chiamati con disprezzo "crucchi" si sono resi conto che di fronte a certi eventi della natura siamo impotenti, e che quindi se il rischio è sì remoto, ma altissimo e irreparabile, conviene essere prudenti e puntare sulle fonti naturali, rinnovabili. Viene da chiedersi perché in Italia una scelta così evidentemente saggia da dover essere quasi scontata non possa essere perseguita con tutte le forze dai governi, e si debba puntare una fonte energetica obsoleta, che comunque non durerà in eterno (le scorte di uranio sono limitate, a differenza del sole e del vento), che non piace alla popolazione civile. Ma in compenso è amata moltissimo dalle lobby, come quelle che sono dietro al forum nucleare (quello dell'imbarazzante spot sanzionato dall'antitrust come pubblicità ingannevole), dietro al quale, per chi non solo sapesse, ci sono l'Enel ed Edison. E da gente come Scajola, colui che avrebbe dovuto gestire il programma nucleare italiano. Il quale, per inciso, nonostante lo scandalo della casa "pagatagli a sua insaputa" (incredibile che in Italia non basti una mazzetta del valore di 900mila euro per porre fine alla carriera di un uomo politico), sta per tornare.
